Bangkok, Thailand | 25 June 2026 The South Asia Foresight Network (SAFN), operating under The Millennium Project in Washington, D.C., served as an academic partner of the International Conference on Peace upon Morality, Development and Nation-Building (ICPDN 2026) in Bangkok, Thailand.

The conference, developed by Prof. Kriengsak Chareonwongsak of the Nation-Building International Institute (NBII), is a leading platform for dialogue on morality, development, peace, and nation-building.

SAFN was represented by Executive Director Prof. Asanga Abeyagoonasekera, Australian social entrepreneur and Senior Fellow Mr. Gerard Lopez, and Dr. Kirby De Lanerolle, who contributed to discussions on governance, trust, foresight, innovation, and social transformation.

Mr. Lopez held discussions with Prof. Kriengsak on expanding investment, entrepreneurship, and research initiatives across South and Southeast Asia, focusing on job creation, innovation, and inclusive development. Both parties expressed interest in identifying practical pathways to strengthen regional resilience and improve livelihoods through future collaborative initiatives.

Dr. De Lanerolle highlighted growing moral fragmentation and introduced Conscience IQ, a civic platform aimed at strengthening civic trust. He also outlined the Common Civic Conscience (CCC) framework and its AI-supported Sandbox for identifying trust gaps and social risks before conflict emerges.

SAFN’s partnership with NBII continues to advance joint research, policy dialogue, and regional cooperation on governance, foresight, and sustainable development.

The participation reflects SAFN’s commitment to strengthening civic trust, human security, and inclusive development across South and Southeast Asia.
