South Asia Foresight Network Appoints Regina Hing (Lay) as Senior Fellow

Her deep experience in economic journalism, sustainability, and regional affairs will strengthen our research and dialogue across South Asia and ASEAN, particularly in the areas of climate resilience and economic foresight. Regina will also contribute to the Economic Crime and Geopolitics Center, bringing valuable insights into the intersection of finance, governance, and transnational economic risks that shape the region’s stability.

Washington, D.C. | November 4, 2025 — The South Asia Foresight Network (SAFN), a leading South Asian think tank operating under the Millennium Project, is pleased to announce the appointment of Regina Hing (Lay) as Senior Fellow (Honorary).

Regina Hing (Lay) currently serves as Anchor and Business News Editor at One News, the cable news arm of Cignal, the Philippines’ leading cable channel. She co-hosts Storycon, the network’s flagship current affairs program. Previously, she was Anchor and Head of News for Bloomberg TV Philippines, where she led a newsroom of over two dozen journalists and managed the network’s daily editorial direction.

Beyond journalism, Regina contributes her expertise as a consultant for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in the Philippines, supporting initiatives on climate change, climate finance, energy transition, green buildings, and financial inclusion. She holds a Master’s degree in Business and Economic Reporting from New York University and was a 2024 Jefferson Fellow at the East-West Center in Hawaii.
